Let us introduce ourselves - hello
Blue Box Sailing was set up in 2003 by Jono and Lisa the founding directors, who are still working hard to ensure Blue Box Experiences offer the best experiences afloat in the UK.
Our original aim was to take boats not normally accessible to sail on unless you were a racer or professional sailor and give people the opportunity to sail on them for the day - to experience what it's all about and hopefully catch the sailing bug.
Over 35,000 customers later, we are still striving to make every experience as special as the first time we sailed. 2016 saw us move to a purpose built events centre at the entrance to the River Hamble and refocused the business to 'getting you on the water'. To that end, we invested in another boat, Betsie Jane, our 1938 Gentleman's Motor Launch, allowing even more people to experience getting afloat.
Our mission is to have fun and make it easy to get on the water
Our company mantra is that 'it's all about the experience'
We strive to ensure everything we do is always professional, safe and with an attention to detail
Our Team - Dedicated, marine professionals
JonoFounder & Skipper
I started sailing as a child in dinghies before progressing onto larger yachts and have now logged over 120,000 miles, 70,000 of which have been in the Solent. With a commercial and instructing background, I have sailed extensively around the UK as well as further afield to the Baltic, Med and Caribbean.
20 years after learning to sail at school, I rediscovered my love of sailing and racing dinghies, at the same time managing an inland sailing club. I now have a brilliant time sharing my passion with customers on the phone and working in an office overlooking the beautiful river!

I started sailing aged just 6 and was hooked from my first trip out! I spent my teens as a dinghy sailing instructor before completing a degree in International Business at Warwick. I have sailed over 35,000 miles around the coast of Britain and further afield in the Baltic and Caribbean.
With a strong watersport enthusiast background, Dom joins us for his second season as a First Mate. When not working on yachts, Dom can usually be found kite surfing.
Sail training gave me the opportunity to get on the water and into sailing when I was 17 years old. I did voluntary work to get more trips under my belt before turning my hobby into a career. Having now logged 30,000nm and sailed the Baltic, Atlantic, Caribbean and northern Europe.
